The library is home to a growing selection of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children, videos, DVDs, audiocassettes, CDs, periodicals, and Apple computers.  There are also several programs for the children to enjoy!

Famous for their prime rib, the Fireside Steak House and Lounge is a must-visit destination when in Anthon. Another well-known eatery in Anthon is the Little Siouxloon Bar & Grill. Ice-cold beer and their made-to-order meals (breakfast, lunch and supper) make this place a local fave! One visit to either will keep you coming back for more!

In addition being the home to the American Legion McNiff Post #389 and the American Legion Auxiliary McNiff Post #389, the city of Anthon proudly displays the Woodbury County Freedom Rock and the Veteran's Memorial Wall, honoring those area service men and women who have served our beloved country.

Numerous volunteers help make up the Anthon-Oto Recreational Ball program a success year-in and year-out. In addition to offering numerous competitive sports programs for area youth, they also coordinate adult offerings and help raise funds to ensure these positive youth-development activities occur.

Come listen and dance to a live orchestra at the Anthon Community Center.  They are normally the 1st Sunday of each month from March until December. There is even a New Year's Eve dance! Dances are from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Potluck lunch at 6 pm. For info call 712-373-5350.

Take advantage of the Little Sioux River's calm waters and enjoy a float trip with friends and family. Launch at Little Sioux Park north of Anthon and land at our new boat ramp at Stahl Park. Kayaks/tubes available locally from Little Sioux Kayaking & Tubing!

Anthon has a Community Center and a Shelter House available for rent. Weddings, anniversaries, reunions, banquets, dances, entertainment, birthdays, graduations and more have taken place at both locations! For more information, just call City Hall @ 712-373-5218.

This 210-acre area is located four miles southeast of Anthon. It is an undeveloped public wildlife area for hiking and hunting. Wildlife and wildflowers are abundant.
